Were you pleased with Rylee’s breakfast birthday party or not? Yes!

We asked Kelli if she would share with us how to make the adorable handmade birthday hats so you could all make them, too, for your child’s next party. These hats are so easy to make, but they add a special touch.

Supplies: Yarn, paper-mache cones (from craft stores), white elastic cord, and paint/spray to decorate your hats.

Step 1. Create yarn pom-poms for your party hats. The full tutorial for creating yarn pom-poms can be found here.

Step 2: Decorate the hats as you wish. I kept mine simple by adding a bit of white paint. For the polka-dot hat, I stuck circular stickers and spray-painted the cap. After the paint dried …., I peeled the stickers off to reveal the cardboard.

Step 3: Use a nail to poke a hole in the hat on either side. You can measure the length you need of the elastic cord and then thread it through both holes of the cap.

Step 4: Attach one pom-pom to each hat using a glue gun. Voila!
