We have a busy schedule because my husband is in military service. This means that we sometimes need to be creative to find time to spend together. Our favorite time together is watching TV. I admit it. It’s nice to relax and not worry about anything or anyone for a while. We are both very busy, so taking a few moments to relax or pretending we’re not engaged is welcome.

I chose to make a gift for my husband based on one of our favorite TV shows. It may be over, but we still enjoy watching the series over and over. To encourage my husband, I created a gift basket.

He doesn’t dress up for going out unless we are going to the theatre with the kids and me. I wanted to get him a present that was all about him and his time with the boys. I wanted to give him something that would help him look good and also be able to spend time with his friends.

Today, I wanted to show you how easy it is to make this gift basket.

Let’s get dressed!

SUIT UP GIFT BASKET FOR HIM

First, I collected everything I wanted to put in my gift basket.

I tried out different items in the store to make sure they would all fit into my basket. Once I have an idea of what theme to shop for, choosing the basket can be the most difficult part. In this case, it was easy. This made it all the better. The basket was the last part of the gift basket I selected, but it was the first component that I used to assemble.

I chose a serving bowl that was inexpensive. It will make a nice bowl to serve chips and other salty snacks when he is with his friends. Next, I lined the bowl with tissue paper. This is not necessary, but it adds some depth to the gift basket. This time, I folded it in half, then gathered a little at the bottom of the paper before placing it in the bowl. I put the largest item first. The Philips Norelco All-in-One Trimmer 3100 with five attachments was in the basket. My husband can create the look that he wants to wear for his outings with friends or for work. It’s perfect for him to maintain a polished appearance in between haircuts. The precision trimmer will help with its self-sharpening blades and pre-set trimming lengths. He can use the beard and stubble brush when he takes a few weeks off to let it grow. This will help him look his best during the holiday season and beyond.

Then, I gave him a few sodas to share with his friends. If they want to try something more adult, they can do so. We needed salty snacks, of course. I chose peanut butter-filled pretzels because he likes peanut butter in just about everything. The container was too large to fit in the basket. I placed the pretzels into small plastic bags and put them inside the basket. I did this to hide the opening at the back. Then, I added a brand-new tie. You should wear a link if you are going to dress up. To make it look more like it wasn’t just thrown into the basket, I rolled up the connection and placed it at the center of the display.

Then, he got some poker chips to have fun with the boys.

Lastly, a gift label. I used some black brands to make the gift tag and a silver pen I had at home.

I gave this basket to my hubby early because I knew that he would have some time off during the holidays, and I wanted him to be able to use it prior to the busy training season at the start of the new year. The only thing he complained about was that I did not write Legendary Wife in the tag. That would have been ideal. This gift basket allows you to customize it for the recipient. You can change the main focus item to a Philips Norelco 3100 Shaver or even a Philips Sonicare 2 Series Plaque Control toothbrush. You can also include a cologne, bowtie, cufflinks, or any other item that your recipient may use to suit up. Of course, you can customize the drinks and snacks so they better reflect the person being honored.
